Audiences have seen Kangna Ranaut groove to beats and shake a leg on screen but the actress feels she is still not capable of doing an item number in a film.
At a time when most actresses, including Katrina Kaif, and even actors like Ranbir Kapoor and Aamir Khan have gone the item number way, Kangna, who has got many such offers, is still chary of accepting them.
"I was offered an item number in `Housefull` and then its sequel. There have been other offers too, but I don`t think I can do justice to an item number. I think people will not like me doing that, so I`m not keen on doing them," the 25-year-old actress told reporters after walking the ramp at the ongoing India International Jewellery Week (IIJW), here.
Kangna walked the ramp for Amrapali Jewels at the event.
Zarine Khan is tired of the constant talk about her uncanny resemblance to fellow actress Katrina Kaif and feels that media should get over it. She also shot down reports of wearing a bikini in the upcoming comedy `Housefull 2`.
"Housefull 2" is her second full-fledged film after "Veer" and it is being directed by Sajid Khan.
"The first schedule of `Housefull 2` is over. It was fun. I`m really looking forward to the next schedule," Zarine, who was the show stopper for Divya K. Ahuja at the India International Jewellery Week (IIJW), told reporters here.
"No, I am not wearing a bikini in the film," added the actress who walked the ramp in a black victorian dress and elaborate diamond jewellery.
Zarine was launched by Salman Khan, who was dating Katrina, with "Veer" last year. After that she made a special appearance in his "Ready".
"This whole comparison with Katrina is media created and it is high time that people get over it," she said.
Can comparisons have a negative impact on her career?
"It`s not that the comparisons can be negative for my career, but both of us are in Bollywood, so it does bother sometime. Although I respect Katrina completely," said the 23-year-old.
Arbaaz Khan, who is launching his career as a director with ‘Dabangg 2’, feels that his experiences as an actor have helped him become a good producer.
“I think I prefer both! My experiences as an actor do help me as a producer,” Gulf News quoted him as saying.
Khan, who was on his IIFA visit to Dubai, was asked if he was daunted by the expectations surrounding ‘Dabangg 2’.
“There would’ve been pressure even if I wasn’t making the sequel, but I’ve learnt not to be bogged down by such pressures. I worked on Dabangg with honesty and dedication, and I’ll do the same the second time around,” he stated.
He was also asked if he felt any pressure, as it was his directorial debut.
“No, I don’t think so. If you have your core team figured out, and a good script, I think you’re pretty much sorted,” he answered.
Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan went down memory lane on a visit to Bangalore. He reminisced the times when he shot for cult Hindi movie "Sholay" around the city.
"In Bengaluru...familiar sites from the times of the shoot of `Sholay` all gone ...now a bustling modern slick and swish city...WOW! So many memories linked to this `garden city` ..its not important whether they were good or bad, its important that you remember them (sic)," Amitabh posted on his Twitter page.
The actor, who featured alongside Dharmendra in the 1975 movie, is busy promoting his forthcoming film "Aarakshan" these days, and Bangalore happened to be on of the cities in the promotional plan. The movie, which also features Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, Manoj Bajpayee and Prateik Babbar, will release Aug 12.
After the success of "Dhinka Chika" song from Salman Khan starrer "Ready", southern composer Devi Sri Prasad, who was always keen to work in Bollywood, is now keen to sign new projects and take forward his alliance with Hindi films.
There are lots of offers started pouring in from Mumbai. I am definitely keen on taking them but I am not jumping into them right away as I am too busy with my Tamil and Telugu projects," Prasad told IANS.
"There is one Bollywood project, which I am very keen about. But I won`t be able to speak about it right away. I haven`t signed it as yet," added the 31-year- old composer.
"Ready" was remake of a Telugu film by the same name and "Dhinka Chika" was the Hindi version of Devi`s composition "Ringa Ringa" in the Telugu version.
Prasad is overwhelmed by the success of the song and considers it his first stepping-stone into Bollywood.
"I never expected such good reviews followed by such a success of the song `Dhinka Chika`. It`ll really help me in starting a full-fledged career in Bollywood," he said.
Prasad had two hits in Tamil and one in Telugu and he takes pride at being the first composer who could give hits in three different languages simultaneously.
"This summer I had two releases -- `Mr Perfect` and the other `100% Love` here -- and both were super-duper hits. The music of another Telugu film has also become a big hit along with `Dhinka Chika` in Hindi. I think I am the only music composer who had hits in three languages at the same time," said the composer.
How does he manage to churn out so many songs in different languages and at the same time keep them unique?
"Music is more about emotions than language. So, in whichever language you compose, the original raw expression of the song is always the same. So I just try to work with the emotions. Once you get connected to the emotion, music automatically happens," said Prasad.
He got offers from Bollywood before "Dhinka Chika", but "I was waiting for a really big break with big hero and a big banner. I always had an ambition to work in Bollywood but I never took a practical step because of lack of time."
The dusky actress Deepika Padukone has replaced rival Katrina Kaif and bagged Karan Johar’s home production opposite ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor.
Initially Kat was signed for this film and the shooting was to begin in November 2011 but due to date issues she could not fulfill the requirements anymore.
However Kat was so desperate to work opposite ex beau that she leaked the news to media about doing Ayan’s film opposite Ranbir Kapoor. But then due to her date issues she had to take a backseat.
And Kat’s loss was DP’s gain as she has been dying to open her account in Dharma Productions and she was also dying to get back together with Ranbir on screen.
It is obvious Deepika would not have let this opportunity go.
Since the past few weeks DP has also been observed using her ‘Aarakshan’ platform to make her stance clear she has been heard saying- ‘I have no issues working with Ranbir.`

Director Milan Luthria, who is busy giving final touches to Vidya Balan starrer `Dirty Picture`, says Akshay Kumar is super charged about the sequel of `Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai`.
The original film starred Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi and was loosely based on the rise of Haji Mastan and Dawood Ibrahim. The sequel takes the story forward but Akshay has replaced the original cast.
Luthria says he is aware of the expectations surrounding the sequel.
"I know the kind of expectations that everyone has from the sequel. OUATIM 2 is different from a regular franchise product as this time around the same story is being carried forward," Luthria told PTI.
The director shared quite a rapport with Ajay after working with him in films like `Kachche Dhaage`, `Chori Chori` and `OUATIM` but his character died in the original. And Luthria is now looking forward to work with Akshay for the first time in the gangster flick.
"As a director it helps you immensely when your actor is super charged about a film. Akshay is super excited about OUATIM 2. He can`t wait for the film to go on floors," says Luthria.
The director is currently busy shooting `Dirty Picture`, which is a biopic of Southern movie siren Silk Smitha.
"It is still early days to comment on how do we take forward the story of OUATIM 2. I have to first finish `The Dirty Picture`. While I would be preparing for its release, ground work on `Once Upon A Time....` sequel would be in full swing."
