Jean-Paul Gaultier to launch lingerie line

Renowned French designer Jean-Paul Gaultier is launching a lingerie line with Italian brand `La Perla`.

Gaultier, 59, who is famous for creating pop queen Madonna`s conical bra for her 1990 Blonde Ambition Tour, has developed a "provocative" lingerie collection, reported Contactmusic.

"Lingerie is part of my DNA: I have always used it in my collections. With La Perla, I have found a perfect partner," he said.

The designer, who also created Madonna`s wardrobe for her 2006 Confessions Tour, added the collection will continue to enforce his strong view of female empowerment.

"I would like to give women freedom to be who they are. I personally think women are the stronger sex; that they are more intelligent and much stronger than us men, and I always wanted to show a strong woman who seduces because she wants to," he added.

Gaultier recently opened a retrospective of his work at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts in Canada, where he admitted he made the first designs of his iconic bra for his stuffed toys.

"I made my first cone-shaped bra out of newsprint for my teddy bear Nana. I was always alone, doing my own story. It was my world, one in which I was very happy, dressing my teddy bear," said Gaultier.

The designer`s underwear collection will be sold at La Perla and Jean-Paul Gaultier boutiques across the world.

"Negus has hardly left her side. He was her first true love. The ladies here all love him - they call him the Love God. They`ve hooked up in the past when she`s been back in Barbados but now things have progressed into a proper relationship again," femalefirst.co.uk quoted a source as saying.

Olivia Wilde upset vagina tattoo would be left out of ‘The Change-UP’

Olivia Wilde was very upset when she was told by producers of ‘The Change-UP’ that she cannot hire a vagina double to show her character’s tattooed genitals in the flick.

The 27-year-old American actress suggested the idea for a scene in which she gets a tattoo along with her co-star Ryan Reynolds, but producers were a little edgy about what she wanted to do and the extent to which she wanted to do it.

“I get it in a very delicate spot... It’s a vagina tattoo... I was like, ‘You have to show the tattoo if you set it up for the audience...’ and they were like, ‘No, we don’t need to show the vagina in the movie’,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

“And I was like, ‘Well, you know, I’m willing to hire my vagina double right now... because I, as an audience member..., I wanna see it,” she said.

Despite many efforts on the part of the ‘Cowboys and Aliens’ star, including acting out as though she really had a tattoo inked on her vagina, the director chose not to show the tattoo.

“I want it to make sense... We get tattoos and there’s a scene later where we’ve just had these tattoos the night before... and I walked into the scene when we were rehearsing, like, ‘Ooh, ooh...’ and they were like, ‘What are you doing? Why are you walking like that?’ I said, ‘Well, I got the vagina tattoo the night before so I’d probably still be sore, right?’” she said.

“They were like, ‘Nobody wants to see that, don’t do that, don’t do that walk,’ and I was like, ‘It doesn’t make sense. We’re being irresponsible to the children out there who might go and get vagina tattoos, expecting to walk normally the next day’,” she added.

She teamed up the dress with black studded booties and made a high ponytail that highlighted the outlines of her face.

Casting couch is not just restricted to women, says Ranveer

As much as the Indian film industry denies it, the infamous casting couch is very much prevalent in Bollywood.

The latest star to confirm this is none other Bollywood’s new poster boy, Ranveer Singh. The ‘Band Baaja Baarat’ star spoke his heart out in the latest episode of ‘Simi Selects: India’s Most Desirable’.

The actor revealed how the casting couch is not just restricted to women but also men. He spoke about his struggling days and said, “It’s not just restricted to women.”

The actor has also in the past spoken about industry’s well kept secret. Earlier this year at FICCI conference, the actor had admitted that he was approached by certain people for sexual favours in return of film roles. Ranveer has also categorically mentioned that big banners do not indulge in such sleazy acts.

Simi also questioned him about his much speculated relationship with co-star and ‘good friend’ Anushka Sharma. Rumours have it that the two have been dating ever since they met on the sets of ‘Band Baaja Baarat’.

Ranveer was at his diplomatic best and said, “We are very professional with each other. We hang out with common friends and go out for movies. We go out to places to eat and what not but we`re not dating,"

Ranveer said that Anushka deserved a much better guy than him. “She is the most amazing amalgamation of beauty, talent and intelligence. I`m awestruck by her. I`m not good enough to be her boyfriend (laughs)", said Ranveer.

Review: ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ is high on emotions

One seldom comes across a Hollywood sci-fi flick which are built on state of the art technology and infused with great deal of human drama. ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ is one such film that both stimulates intellectually and emotionally.

Rupert Wyatt’s ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes,’ which stars James Franco, Freida Pinto, Andy Serkis and John Lithgow, portrays what happens when one messes with nature.

‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ is the story of Will Rodman (Franco), a scientist who wants to find the cure for Alzheimer’s disease as his father (Lithogow) is acutely suffering from it. In his search of a panacea, Will stumbles upon a wonder drug - ALZ 112 and starts testing it on chimps. Things are fine till one of the female chimps goes crazy and has to be terminated. Yet, before the chimp dies, she gives birth to a baby, which is secretly smuggled by Will into a safe custody.

As time passes, Will discovers the extra-ordinary intelligence of Caesar (Serkis) and soon becomes an inseparable part of the scientist’s family. The film traces Caesar’s growth as an infant to a fully grown primate, where Will is almost like a father figure to him, thereby portraying his relationship with each member of Rodman family, be it Will, his girlfriend (Freida) or his father. The thought of being abandoned by Will and his family leaves a deep impact on Caesar’s psyche as when one of Will’s experiments goes horribly wrong, Caesar is incarcerated and he vows to take revenge against the entire human race.

‘Rise of the Planet of Apes’ is an intelligent and sensitive portrayal of human and apes. The movie comes alive when powerful primates create pandemonium in the city of San Francisco in their war for existence. Watch out for James Franco and Andy Serkis as Will and Caesar, whose relationship is like a mottled rainbow, revealing each and every emotion that exists within the human heart.

‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ is a must watch with friends and family.

That’s not all! Apart from sharing the screen space with King Khan she will be designing her own clothes for the film.

It seems, Katrina likes to give her own personal touch to the clothes and accessories that she wears for her roles in her films. In fact, she even went shopping with Rocky S for her rock-chick look in Yashraj`s ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’.

I dress minimal and unfussy. So deciding my own clothes for my characters is not a big deal."

Sonam brings the curtains down on Jewellery Week

Actress Sonam Kapoor Thursday closed the second season of the four day jewellery extravaganza - the India International Fashion Week (IIJW), walking the ramp showcasing an exclusive piece of international brand, Boucheron of Paris.

The IIJW paid tribute to Boucheron by making it the closing show of the event.

"The whole point of the look is very wild and other worldly. It reminds me of the Shakespeare`s description of Elizabethan age and their jewelleries. This one piece enhances your beauty. There is a special mechanism which makes the flowers open and close," Sonam told reporters after the grand finale of the show here.

The final show started with `Dabangg` actor Sonu Sood taking the ramp showcasing some heavy gold beaded jewellery of PC Jewelleries. He was followed by other models showcasing the glittering range of the brand.

Math wizard`s coaching helped me direct Amitabh Bachchan: Jha

Film-maker Prakash Jha today said he used the teaching skills and body language of Super30 founder and math wizard Anand Kumar to direct Amitabh Bachchan and Saif Ali Khan in his upcoming film `Aarakshan`.

"I took help from Anand Kumar and I observed his body language and skills which helped me to teach Amitji and Saif," Jha told reporters on a mission here for promoting his upcoming film with Amitabh Bachchan and Manoj Vajpayee.

"I am really thankful to Anand Kumar for his sincere efforts in helping me to direct the maths coaching portion of the film. Kumar accepted my request to come to Mumbai and give coaching in mathematics," Jha said.

Having missed the opportunity to go to Cambridge in 1994 because of acute financial constraints, Anand set up the Ramanujan School of Mathematics for poor children in 1992.

In 2002, he set up `Super 30`, where he provides free education, food and lodging to 30 talented students from underprivileged sections of the society for the IIT-JEE. In the last nine years, 236 students have qualified.

`Aarakshan` is slated to release on August 12.

Ajay gets experimental, signs Priyadarshan`s film

Ajay Devgn seems to be in a wildly experimental mood. Swinging from the hardcore mainstream `Singham`, he now goes on to what is arguably the quirkiest film of his career.

The film in questions will be titled "The Arab The Camel & P Madhavan Nair" and it is the Hindi version of Priyadarshan`s Malayalam movie which is on the verge of completion. The original stars Mohanlal.

"Yes, I am remaking `The Arab, The Camel & P Madhavan Nair` with Ajay. This is the first time I`ve decided to do a Hindi version of a film even before completing the Malayalam version. I am also certain Ajay can do full justice to it. After `Aakrosh`, I feel I owe him a hit," said Priyadarshan.

"Actually, remakes work for me. And why not? I am remaking my own films," he added.

Isha Koppikar doesn`t regret not being a part of `Don 2`

Many would give a hand to be a part of Shah Rukh Khan`s forthcoming sequel to "Don", but actress Isha Koppikar, who was part of the 2006 remake of the original "Don" has no regrets that she could not make it to the much-awaited and hyped sequel.

"I`m not a part of `Don 2` and I don`t regret not being a part of it," Isha told reporters at the ongoing India International Jewellery Week (IIJW).

The actress walked the ramp for Kashi Jewellers, wearing a set of emeralds, rubies, diamonds and polkis.

The original "Don" that starred Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan released in 1978 and in 2006, Farhan Akhtar directed a remake of the film, where Isha essayed the role of Don`s (Shah Rukh Khan) girlfriend Anita.

However, the actress was not offered a role in the sequel that is slated to release later this year.

Although Isha, who married longtime boyfriend Timmy Narang in 2009, could not secure a place in "Don 2", the actress is excited about her upcoming release "Shabri", a Ram Gopal Varma production that will hit the screens after a gap of five years.

"This film was made a couple of years back and now it is releasing. Better late than never. I`m very excited. Everyone has worked very hard on it and I`m glad it`s releasing. The promotions have just started," said Isha.

"It`s a gangster movie. It`s about a spurned woman, who gets sandwiched between mafia and the police," she added.

The 34-year-old is also planning to venture into the hospitality sector.

"I`m also venturing into hospitality business because I want to do something more than just movies," she said.

Prakash Jha `surprised` over cancelled Lucknow show

Filmmaker Prakash Jha is upset that the permission to stage a grand show in Lucknow to promote his forthcoming film "Aarakshan" was withdrawn by the Mayawati government at the eleventh hour. He says if people have a problem with the film, they should discuss it with him head on.

"I am surprised that the permissions were cancelled at the last minute. I just don`t understand what kind of problems people have with my film. Nobody has seen the film, and even if they have issues with the promos of the film, why can`t they point it out to me?" Jha said in a statement.

The event, a debate on the subject of the film - caste-based reservations in the Indian society - was to be held in Lucknow Wednesday. Film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Manoj Bajpai and Prateik Babbar were to attend the event, along with Jha. But they were denied permission by the state administration on grounds of "apprehension of breach of peace".

To this, Jha said: "For the last month my team had been in process of organising this debate in Lucknow and had got the approved permission from all authorities. Thus, this last-minute withdrawal without any stated reason is quite baffling."

The film is set for release Aug 12, and the team has been touring different cities to promote it. From Patna, they skipped Lucknow, and flew directly to New Delhi Wednesday.

Bachchan, who plays a key role in the film, took to his blog to share his sentiments on being kept away from visiting Lucknow.

"It is strange to prevent us from coming into the city fearing a law and order situation, for the Censor Board has already given us a certificate for exhibition...a bit strange do you not think??" posted the 68-year-old.

Bollywood hunk John Abraham lifts a 150 kg bike!

Bollywood hunk John Abraham took his obsession with mean machines to another level when he surprised the cast and crew by lifting a 150 kg bike in ‘Force.’

Apparently, when director Nishikant Kamat told John about the scene, the hunk of an actor persisted on the doing the scene all by himself, that too without any harness.

Talking to a daily, producer Vipul Shah said, “I was not on the sets the day John was shooting for the scene. When Nishikant called me to say he was planning to do it without a harness, I told him not to allow him to do the same as he could hurt his back or knee. But he was confident and insisted on performing it.”

John Abraham pulled off the adrenaline rushing stunt brilliantly.
"John is a physical guy so the action was all high octane. We did use cables for certain sequences, but when it needed to be raw like the bike scene, he did it himself,” added action director Allan Amin.

‘Time fashion industry is viewed as serious business’

Designer Pria Kataaria Puri, who won the Asian Achievers award and has designed for the likes of Paris Hilton, Madonna, Raveena Tandon and Tabu, says it is high time the fashion industry was seen as serious business rather than just entertainment.

The designer, known for her signature gowns, kaftans, dresses and animal print saris, also said the Indian retail industry is going through a bad phase and it needs immediate attention.

"I believe our fashion industry has got global recognition today because of our talented designers, who stand out in their creativity. However, our retail industry is in a bad shape. We need to become more professional in order to help our fashion industry prosper," Pria told reporters.

The fashion industry is normally perceived more as a glamour sector and it is high time people made collective efforts to turn it into serious business, says Puri who was the the youngest awardee at the event held in Dubai last month.

"Fashion is still perceived as an entertainment with celebs and parties forming a nexus. It is so because it`s the biggest glamour industry after Bollywood. I hope the fashion industry becomes more legitimate and is viewed as serious business rather than just entertainment," said the 37-year-old.

She has won other honours like the Bharat Yuva Ratna Award and the Bharat Vikas Award in the past.

Pria is constantly trying to evolve herself as a designer and takes inspiration from anything that promises to keep her creativity on the highest pedestal. In her quest to compete with her earlier creations, she has tried something different in her latest collection, Marrakesh, which is inspired by the exotic red city of Morocco.

"Marrakesh is an exotic, glam, hip luxury resort wear collection that can be worn by women of all ages and sizes. The garments are perfect for cocktails, evening parties, brunches, destination weddings and travelling," she said.

The collection is a mix of Indo-western silhouettes like maxis, lounge gowns, kaftans, tunics, jackets, saris and dresses. The prices are made available on request.

Pria is one of the handful designers who have impressed fashionistas not only in India but also in fashion capitals like Paris as well as in New York, Milan, and Kuwait.

"Whatever I am today is because of my hard work and dedication and this is what I suggest to the upcoming designers. Never give up on your dreams and passion. There`s no such thing as impossible if you enjoy what you do and can work hard towards it. At the same time, never compromise your morals in order to achieve something," she said.

Ask her what next and she says she is looking forward to the fashion week in Mumbai.

"I will take part at the Lakme Fashion Week showcasing my latest collection called Persian Phunk," said Pria who showcased her Marrakesh collection at the Bangalore Fashion Week.

Designing is not the only thing on her priority list. Whenever she gets free time, Pria loves to do horse riding, roller blading and learning Indian classical music. She also practises Bharat Natyam and plays the piano.

Reading palms, sketching and cooking too interests her.

After becoming successful and carving a niche for herself abroad, Pria says she may expand her business and that her next destinations could be the food and the beauty industries.

"As of now I want to concentrate on women`s fashion, since that`s what I love doing. In the near future, I would like to expand into the food and the beauty industries," she said.

One in five people stop locking lips after marriage

A survey has found that one in five married couples do not kiss for an entire week.

But if they do, it is usually a quick smooch lasting no more than five seconds, reports the Daily Express.

According to the survey, the younger sweethearts between 18 and 24, are more romantic, as they lock lips with a partner 11 times a week.

The findings have been released in a campaign by the British Heart Foundation to teach reviving skills like the kiss of life to schoolchildren as part of the national curriculum.

Berlusconi hosts another ‘bunga bunga’ party despite Italy’s crisis

Even as the Italian economy is on the verge of a financial meltdown, Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi hosted another one of his infamous ``bunga bunga`` parties last Sunday, Italian media has reported.

Berlusconi, 74, is embroiled in allegations that dozens of showgirls were paid to attend the bunga bunga parties - which is said to refer to a crude after dinner sex act - at his luxury villa, reports the Daily Mail.

The new allegations came just hours before Berlusconi was due to give or make or break speech to the Italian parliament in an attempt to calm jitters over the current economic crisis.

According to Italian media reports, 20 women were seen entering Berlusconi``s villa at Arcore last Sunday in a fleet of cars with guests not leaving until 2am.

The women are said to have ``used more caution`` than normal when entering the villa so as not to attract attention although the identity of the women was not known.

Berlusconi is currently facing a charge of having sex with an underage prostitute after it emerged one of the guests at the parties held last year was at the time just 17 years old.

Shabana slams news of her debut in Pakistani film

After much media speculation, it has been revealed that Shabana Azmi will not be making a foray into Lollywood, Pakistani cinema.

Till very recently, the Pakistani media had reported that the National Award winning actress was going to make her debut in Paksitani films by doing a cameo in producer Wajahat Abbas Kazmi`s film, ‘The Dusk’. But the news was slammed by Azmi herself.

Producer Wajahat Kazmi had apparently announced in Pakistani media that Shabana will be seen in an important role in his film. He had said, "Well yes, the news is absolutely correct and Shabana Azmi will be here soon to act her part in the film. We hope that her presence in the movie will add extra value to it, It`s a small role but of a very important character."

When Azmi heard the news, she completely denied the news. Speaking to a daily, the actress said, "No, I haven`t given my consent for the film."

When Kazmi was asked to clarify by the same daily, the producer took a U-turn and said, "We are in contact with Azmi`s manager Carrol D`souza and have sent her a copy of the script. We are not sure if she will accept our proposal, but it would come as a big news if she said a `yes`."

Shabana Azmi had a different story to narrate. The actress said, "Wajahat had written to me about the film and mentioned about it to me, but I have yet to receive the script. Period."

Looks like the filmmaker is trying to sell his film by using the name of huge star like Azmi!

Amy Winehouse ‘slept with ex Blake Fielder-Civil 2 yrs after their marriage broke’

The late Amy Winehouse spent one last night with her ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil after their split, while his new love partner Sarah Aspin tossed and turned on the sofa in the living room of their flat.

The amazing meeting happened after the couple’s turbulent marriage ended two years ago.

Aspin, now clean and mum of Fielder-Civil’s 10-week-old baby, said that despite the divorce Winehouse had remained a “constant fixture” in their relationship.

They met when Winehouse travelled from London to visit Fielder-Civil.

“It was the hardest thing in the world I’ve ever had to do,” the Daily Star quoted Aspin as saying.

“I was basically putting the man I loved back in the arms of his talented and rich ex-girlfriend. But I couldn’t say no.
“Blake and I were already deeply in love but he didn’t tell Amy that. He told me how vulnerable she was and didn’t want to risk hurting her feelings.

“Instead he told her I was a ‘friend in need’. I was so excited to meet her and yet aware she was really my love rival.

Aspin described Amy as lovely and polite, and revealed that the late singer called her ‘pretty girl’.

“I think she knew Blake and I were more than friends then. She wasn’t stupid. But we just went along with things to make her stay as comfortable as possible,” said Aspin.

“Amy seemed so tiny and vulnerable. She looked so lost I just wanted to hug her. Though they slept in the same bed, Blake assured me they didn’t do anything,” she added.
