After objecting to Ram Gopal Verma’s film ‘Not A Love Story’, Amar Nath Grover, father of murdered producer Neeraj Grover has asked Ramu to donate part of the film’s earning to a charity.
The film is said to be based on the infamous Neeraj Grover murder case which convicted Maria Susiaraj and her then fiancé Emile Jerome to three years and seven years of imprisonment respectively.
The film starring Mahie Gill and Deepak Dobriyal has already received a lot of flak from all sections of the society. Slated for an August release, the film’s director has filed a caveat in court to ensure that his controversial film is not stalled by any of the concerned parties going to court to stay the release of his film.
Speaking to a daily, Neeraj’s mother, Neelam Grover, said, "Earlier, we were planning to go to the court against the film. But when we were in Delhi, Mahesh Bhatt spoke on our behalf to Ram Gopal Varma to find out if the film shows anything related to casting couch. RGV assured him that the film had no such content. It only shows how Neeraj was brutally murdered and how Jerome is behind bars because of Maria`s act. Since then we have been patiently waiting for the release of the film."
Neeraj`s father, Amar Nath Grover, added, "As a father I just want that my son`s image should not be tarnished. I want RGV to make a trust in Neeraj`s name, either in Mumbai or Kanpur. He should donate a part of his earnings from the film to the trust."
"The trust would work to provide medical facilities to the underprivileged. I am also okay if Ram Gopal Varma gets a two-three room polyclinic constructed in Kanpur, which is taken care of by the trust. I don`t want to be a beneficiary of the trust. If the film in anyway shows my son in bad light, then the work done by the trust would help me in protecting his image."
Ram Gopal Varma remained unavailable for comment.
