Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham in ‘Kaante 2’?

After starting together in superhit ‘Dhoom’ and ‘Dostana,’ buzz has it that Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham are all set to revive their great chemistry in ‘Kaante 2.’

Apparently, ‘Kaante 2’ will star Arjun Rampal and Bobby Deol. Talking to a daily, a source said, “Abhishek and John`s great chemistry in ‘Dostana’ earned them a lot of fans. Both actors are very fond of each other. They were looking forward to work again in the second edition of the film and consequently didn`t sign any other movies. But since ‘Dostana 2’ isn`t probably happening, they have decided to stop waiting for it. They always wanted to do another franchise and ‘Kaante 2’ fitted the bill perfectly. They have heard the script and given their consent but the official announcement is yet to be made.”

“The film is directed by a Hollywood director of ‘Mask’ and ‘The Scorpion King,’ Chuck Russel and will be shot in South Africa,” added the source.

When contacted, producer Shabbir Boxwala revealed, “The film is in a very raw stage. We are planning to put it together. According to paper work Raju Patel holds the rights. Since he is no more, I am planning to make the sequel with his younger brother Uru Patel.”

Talking about the cashing of the film, Boxwala said, “We have not approached Abhishek and John. Arjun and Bobby are my dear friends, so I had a casual chat with them. But we haven`t approached anyone officially.”

However, Boxwala confirmed about the Hollywood director as he added, “Russel was a dear friend of Raju Patel and was always interested in making a Bollywood film. We are in talks with him. Since he is a big name we will surely have a fancy star cast in the film.”
